Restulator POS - Order Entry System

Overview

The Restulator POS (Point of Sale) system provides an intuitive interface for restaurant staff to create and manage customer orders. This guide explains how to use the order entry screen effectively.

Creating a New Order

  1. Access Order Screen: Click "New Order" in the top navigation bar to start a new order.

  2. Select Table: The current table number appears in the upper right (e.g., "Table: Table 4"). Use the "Change" button to select a different table.

  3. Find Menu Items: Use these methods to locate items:

    • Search bar: Enter dish name or price in the search field

    • Category tabs: Browse by menu sections (All, Salads, Burgers, Stir Fry, Sushi, Local Favorites)

    • Scroll through dish cards organized in a grid layout

  4. Add Items to Order: Click on a dish card to view available variations, then select the desired option. Each variation shows:

    • Size/portion type (Regular, Kids, Vegan, Family Size, etc.)

    • Price for that option

  5. Manage Order Items: The right panel shows the current order with:

    • Item names and selected options

    • Individual prices

    • Quantity controls (+ and - buttons)

    • Remove item option (X button)

  6. Apply Discounts: Enter a discount amount and select percentage (%) or dollar ($) to reduce the total.

  7. Review Order Summary: Check the order details in the right panel:

    • Subtotal (sum of all items)

    • Tax amount

    • Final total

  8. Complete Order:

    • "Save" - Stores the order for later processing (F7 shortcut)

    • "Save & Pay" - Proceeds to payment screen (F5 shortcut)

Order Management Features

  • Navigation: Use the sidebar menu to access other system areas:

    • Dashboard: View sales overview

    • Reports: Access business analytics

    • Kitchen: Monitor food preparation

    • Orders: View all current orders

    • Non-paid Order: See pending payments

  • Order Modification: Return to existing orders using "All Order" in the sidebar to make changes.

  • Quick Actions:

    • "Clear All" - Remove all items from current order

    • Individual item removal - Use X button beside each item

Tips for Efficient Use

  • Use category tabs to quickly narrow down menu options

  • The search function works for both item names and prices

  • Order items are shown with their categories below the dish name

  • Different portion sizes and options are clearly listed with corresponding prices

  • Remember keyboard shortcuts (F7 for Save, F5 for Save & Pay) for faster service
